How can you, as a network marketer, find more people to talk to about your MLM business? The best people you can recruit are to be found in your warm market – potential customers with whom you already have some form of relationship or history. But the warm market only extends so far – you must meet new people and attract them into the business. How do you turn a cold prospect into a friend or an acquaintance? The 10 tips for cold prospecting given here will offer ideas on how to do just that and make a success of your MLM business. Read on!

1.   Create free content such as Blogs, YouTube videos and so on.
A blog is important because it acts as the central hub of your social media accounts, helps target a particular niche, builds your authority and projects your expertise in the niche. When you have a blog, you will be trusted by your prospects as an expert in the field. Be sure to write well and include rich media content such as YouTube videos and attractive photography. This way, you can attract countless prospects through a blog.

2.   Set up attractive Lead Capture Pages.
Setting up a very professional lead capture page on your main website helps to generate leads automatically. The prospects who are led to your blog having been attracted by the lead capture page are likely to be serious, better informed, savvy and smart. They know exactly what to expect and have probably been involved in MLM in the past and are looking for new opportunities – which you can provide.

3.   Connect with people at Networking Events.
Networking events such as trade shows, seminars and so on are a great way to meet and network with new people. You will find countless opportunities to turn prospects here, because the people at such events are very receptive to new business opportunities and are in fact actively looking for the best ones themselves.

4.   Attending Meetup Groups.
One of the best ways to attract cold prospects is to attend Meetup groups where members of the local community get together and meet each other in a friendly environment. You will make friends for life here and find great prospects too – just be careful not to come across as too salesmanlike.

5.   Business cards left in personal development and business books in libraries and bookstores.
One of the best ways to advertise your MLM business and attract cold prospects is to leave an attractively designed business card in the personal development and business books in libraries and bookstores. Remember, people who read these books are usually very interested in finding new business opportunities – you probably read these books yourself!

6.   Have you tried Ads on the Car Back Window and Car Registration Plates?
This is the simplest way to advertise your MLM business, have ads printed on your car back window and on registration plates, along with a contact number. Get your family and friends to carry these ads on their cars as well.

7.   Go out and Compliment at least 10 people every day in your Neighborhood.
There is no substitute to meeting people and building relationships in MLM. You must be a very social person and you should like meeting new people and talking to them. Can you talk to at least 10 people in your neighborhood each day? It’s really not that difficult – and you will make new friends.

8.   Have you thought of Clothes Marketing?
This is a new way of marketing where you get your advertising and contact details printed in an attractive way on T-shirts or caps and wear them to work or go shopping. When someone sees your business branded clothes, they might become curious about the business opportunity and talk to you about what’s in it for them. They are probably not aware of your company in the first place, so they will do a quick search on Google on their iPhone and find out more about it before talking to you.

9.   Use Free Standing Inserts
Free-Standing Insert means inserting promotional media inside newspapers and magazines. For this you’ll have to talk to your newspaper vendor or the local newspaper stand and ask very politely about inserting your flyers inside their newspapers. If you’re friendly with them, they might allow you to do so for free, otherwise you’ll probably have to pay a small fee.

    10.   Join Niche Social Networks

One of the best ways to find cold prospects for your MLM business is to join niche social networks such as Kaboodle, Revelry, Imeem, Classmates.com, Flixster and so on. You will find a more eager, curious and interested audience here, rather than on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, where people are hit by a barrage of advertising. Your conversion rates are likely to be much higher on niche networks.
