6 Incredibly Efficient Ways to Deal with “I Have No Money” Objection
One of the most
common objections you will get as a network marketer as you scout for prospects
is the “I have no money” objection. In fact, the “I have no money” objection is
the #1 objection most network marketers across the country have to deal with
when they present their product or business opportunity. How can an ambitious
network marketer deal with this very pertinent issue? Let’s find out!
#1. When a
prospect says, “I really don’t have the money”, ask him or her, “Would you join
if you had the money?” This way, you will be able to gauge the prospect’s
interest – whether they are telling the truth about not having any money or it
is just a polite way of declining the business opportunity. Then, convince them
by talking about the advantages of joining the business opportunity,
compensation plan and so on and ask if that isn’t a good enough reason to find
money to join ASAP? They might respond with a “Yes” or with a “No” – but at least
you’ll have had the satisfaction of trying your best.
#2. If the
prospect is telling the truth about not having the money to join the program,
get them thinking about the ways to raise money, if that’s possible at all. Ask
the prospect, “I am curious, if you had managed to get the money, what would
have been the biggest factor that would help you come up with it?” This will
get them thinking hard about coming up with something.
#3. Explain
to the prospect how you do understand and appreciate their problem of not
having money. Explain the benefits of joining the program and explain why they
should enjoy the benefits right now by finding out some way to arrange for the
money to be paid. Explain how they are actually suffering by not joining the
program, and how the business opportunity will get them started on the roadway
to success and financial independence.
#4. Ask the
prospect, “Suppose you had the money, would you move forward?” If the prospect
is able to convince you that he or she really does not have the money, ask them
how much money is available to them. If they say they have $150 with them, and
the start up cost of the business is $300, guide them through their options and
help them identify the various ways to muster up the extra $150. But if they
are truly desperate and have no way of raising the money, don’t push them too
hard.
#5. If the
prospect says that they really don’t have the money, just ask them in a
lighthearted manner, “Hey, do you really not have the money or you are just blowing
me off?” The key to this is to be as pleasant as possible, and not come across
as insulting. In most cases, the prospect would ask you to give them a couple
of days or so to come up with the money.
#6. Our last tip
is to know when to stop. As a network marketer, it is your job to provide
information. You have to present the opportunity to the prospect, recruit them
and then teach them how to duplicate the process. The problem is, not everyone
sees the financial benefit of an MLM business. You cannot as a network marketer
force them to open their eyes; they will have to eventually find their way
around themselves. You can only push so much, ultimately, it’s up to your
prospect, whether he or she really wants the opportunity or not. So, do your
best, but don’t get emotionally involved in the process.
